VERGENNES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person is in serious condition after a head-on collision in Kent County.
It happened around 9:40 p.m. on Friday. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year-old driver was travelling on Vergennes Street near the entrance to Lowell High School when he crossed the center line and struck a car driven by 33-year-old Sadie Bowers of Belding.
Bowers was pinned in her vehicle and had to be removed. She was airlifted to the hospital and is listed in serious condition. The 16-year-old and his two 15-year-old passengers were not hurt.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says alcohol was not a factor. The crash is under investigation.
