Woman suffers serious injuries after falling from moving vehicle

ROTHBURY, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman suffered serious injuries after police say she fell off the bumper of a moving vehicle in Oceana County.

It happened around 6 p.m. on Friday on Bartlett Road near Forrest Street in Rothbury. Michigan State Police say the 26-year-old woman was riding on the front of a moving vehicle and fell off.

The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old woman who police say is an acquaintance of the victim, took off before police arrived. Policed tracked her down, and, after interviewing her, arrested her.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say alcohol does appear to be a factor. The incident is still under investigation.
