Man wearing Halloween mask robs delivery driver

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is behind bars after police say he robbed a pizza delivery driver.

It happened in the 200 block of Oaklawn Drive in Bedford Township, north of Battle Creek — according to a news release from the Battle Creek Police Department.

The pizza delivery driver told police he was robbed of pizza and cash by a suspect wearing a Halloween mask as he delivered to what turned out to be a vacant home. The suspect was able to flee on foot, the release said.

When police arrived at the scene, they created a perimeter. A K9 unit was able to track and locate the suspect who was arrested without incident.

Police were able to recover a mask, cash, weapon and a cellphone.

The 29-year-old suspect was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on numerous charges related to the robbery and previous warrants, the release said.
