KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety released dashcam video of a deer being rescued from a batting cage net at a local high school.

On Sept. 27, authorities were called to the school after a whitetail deer got his 8-point antlers wrapped in the net and couldn’t escape.

Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Hutson was able to secure the buck’s rear legs with a fire-rescue strap, while Officer Gates cut the antlers free of the net.

The deer was then able to run off to a wooded area uninjured.

The rescue was caught on video. The video can be watched by clicking on the video player below or app users can click here.
