GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police say the two people believed to have robbed two stores on Sunday evening have been taken into custody.

One of the robberies happened around 8:15 p.m. at Ron’s Quick Stop on Bridge Street NW near Marion Avenue. Police say the robbers, who were armed with a gun, held up the convenience store and then ran away.

The other robbery happened around 8:45 p.m. at a Subway sandwich shop on Plainfield Avenue NE near Eleanor Street.

Police say they tracked down the suspects and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ann Street and Turner Avenue NW. Police say a pair of distinctive shoes helped confirm the people in the car were the suspects they were seeking.

Both were taken into custody.
