GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The holiday season is fast approaching, and that means it’s time for the annual Angel Tree Toy Drive.

Angel Tree

The WOOD TV8/Salvation Army Angel Tree partnership is 25 years old this year. This partnership has provided toys and gifts to more than half a million West Michigan children who would otherwise go without.

In 2015, Angel Tree is prepared to serve nearly 10,000 households across West Michigan. Right now, there are 82 Angel Tree sites in Kent County and 185 throughout West Michigan. Families in Grand Rapids can not only select gifts for their children, but also receive food vouchers to buy food for their holiday meal.

Red Kettle

The Salvation Army is also set to launch the 2015 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign. Each year, The Salvation Army distributes toys and food vouchers to families, thanks to the generosity of this community. The goal of the 2015 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign is $1.6 million.
