HOWARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities in Cass County say they arrested a burglary suspect after a vigilant neighbor called 911.
The theft happened around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday at a home on M-60 in Howard Township, east of Niles, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say someone called 911 and reported they had just seen a man kick in their neighbor’s door and then walk out carrying a flat screen TV.
Witnesses gave deputies a description of the suspect’s vehicle and they soon spotted it. They conducted a traffic stop and arrested the suspect, who confessed upon being interviewed, police said.
The suspect’s name is not being released pending arraignment. A Wednesday release from the sheriff’s office did not specify exactly what charges he would face.
The stolen property, meanwhile, was returned to its rightful owner.
