NEWAYGO, Mich. (WOOD)— A West Michigan library at the center of an embezzlement investigation is now looking for workers.
The Newaygo Library posted a job opening for a temporary library clerk on its website.
Another message posted on the library’s website says the library will remain closed until Monday, Oct. 26.
The Newaygo Library was forced to close because several staffers have quit since director Christina Golm started about six months ago.
Golm also recently fired librarian Georgia Kohlbeck over allegations of embezzlement and contacted Newaygo police to launch an investigation. The firing outraged some library patrons, who defended Kohlbeck during the library’s board meeting Tuesday.
