GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman who hit and killed a 4-year-old boy while driving without a valid license is now facing a felony charge.

Court officials tell 24 Hour News 8 that prosecutors have filed a charge of operating with a suspended license, causing death against Susan Rieckman.

Rieckman was behind the wheel of the pickup truck that hit and killed Talos Bills in downtown Greenville last month. Police said Rieckman was on M-57 turning left onto M-91 when she hit the boy in a crosswalk.

The Cedar Springs woman told relatives she didn’t see the boy. A witness said he had to chase down her vehicle.

State records show Rieckman’s license was suspended in July 2014 for medical reasons.

Rieckman was free Thursday on a $2,500 bond. She’s expected back in court on Oct. 30, when she’ll be formally charged.

On Monday Nov. 23, Rieckman was bound over to Montcalm County Circuit Court.
