GR’s Big Talent kicks off Sunday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A talent competition in collaboration with America’s Got Talent will take place in Grand Rapids on Sunday.

GR’s Big Talent is a regional talent show seeking to highlight the top performers in West Michigan. Up to five finalists will have an opportunity to skip the line for the Detroit regional competition qualifier in November and at least one finalist will skip the qualifier and win an audition slot.

The talent show will start at 12 p.m. at Wege Theater. Contestants may register online for $20, but tickets to view the auditions are free.

GR’s Big Talent will then host a finale show at 6 p.m. on November 14. There will be 15 contestants and 300 audience members.

The first place prize is $1,000, while the second and third place prizes are $500 and $250.

Organizers of the event said one musical performance will be selected to perform at the “HOT New Years Eve” event.
