Hospice of Michigan helps grieving families during holidays


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A free community outreach program aimed at helping those who have lost loved ones with their grief is being provided in Grand Rapids for the next few weeks.

The program is called “Hope for the Holidays,” and is being offered by the Hospice of Michigan.

Hope for the Holidays teaches techniques to help handle grief and find comfort during the holidays. Some of those tips from the Hospice of Michigan include planning ahead, accepting your limitations, taking care of yourself and lowering your expectations.

The program is offering a few events in the coming week:

-Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, located at 1806 Bridge Street NW from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
-Monday, Nov. 9 at Salvation Army, located at 1235 Fulton Street E. from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
-Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, located at 1806 Bridge Street NW from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
