GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A Michigan filmmaker is on a mission to help stop bullying through her movie “A Girl Like Her.”
“A Girl Like Her” depicts the real state of bullying in American schools. Told through the eyes of teenagers, it paints a poignant picture of how bullying can affect an entire community.
Maranda partnered with Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, and Celebration! Cinema for a special free screening. Nearly 300 students from six West Michigan schools were invited to watch the movie and participate in a panel with filmmaker Amy Weber and experts from Pine Rest and Girl Scouts.
“A Girl Like Her” is available for school screenings and will be in wide release in January 2016.
