1 airlifted after SUV collides with semi

An SUV struck a semi-truck in Zeeland on the morning of Nov. 1, 2015.

ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was airlifted to the hospital after an SUV collided with a semi-truck in Ottawa County.

The two-vehicle crash happened early Sunday morning on Adams Street, just west of 48th Avenue in Zeeland.

Authorities say a milk tanker driven by Douglas Younker, 30, of Holland was backing into a drop point when an SUV driven by Deth Khounsobat, 47, of Zeeland crashed into the back tires of the cab.

Authorities say Khounsobat was pinned in and had to be extricated. He was airlifted to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Police say the scene has been cleaned up and the roads are back open.
