SEATTLE (WOOD) Girls are being inspired to reach for the sky in a program from Delta. The Women Inspiring Next Generation (WING) Delta Flight is an inspirational and educational trip for girls interested in the fields of aviation and STEM.
The flight left from Minneapolis on September 26, taking more than 120 girls, ages 12 to 18, to Seattle to visit the Museum of Flight. The flight was staffed entirely by women from pilots to flight attendants and engineers to customer service agents.
Throughout the flight, girls got to interview the Delta professionals about their careers and the field of aviation. Among the girls on the flight was a group from West Michigan Aviation Academy. The Delta Airlines Foundation recently gave the academy a $150,000 grant to help train future pilots.
