COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) — “Today” weatherman Al Roker was in Michigan on Tuesday as he attempts to break a world record by delivering weather reports from all 50 states in a week.

Roker arrived at the Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater around 5 p.m. Hundreds of people showed up to welcome him.

Tuesday marked Day 5 of Roker’s record attempt, affectionately dubbed “Rokerthon 2.” The first Rokerthon was last year, when he delivered the longest uninterrupted live weathercast over the course of 34 hours.

He visited a total of seven states Tuesday: Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. If all goes as planned, the event will finish up on Friday in New York City.

Rokerthon 2 is benefiting Feeding America.
