STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD)— Sturgis police believe a trash-bag wearing bandit who targeted a Citgo station is the same person behind an armed robbery on Monday.

The thrifty thief robbed the Admiral gas station at 1207 E. Chicago Road four days after the Citgo station on U.S. 12 at Balk Road was robbed.

Surveillance video shows the suspect wearing a poncho fashioned out of a garbage bag with a garbage bag wrapped around their face.

Sturgis police are working with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department to track down the robber.

Anyone who recognizes the thief is asked to call Sturgis Police at (269) 651-3231.
