COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor is not filing charges against a 20-year-old woman accused of stabbing a man to death in Comstock Township.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas said a domestic violence incident sparked the attack, which happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1200 block of Carter Street near East Main.
Authorities say 35-year-old David Leonard Degoede Jr. was killed.
Officials said the 20-year-old woman has been cooperating. Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said she lived with the man and she was the one who called 911.
The woman was arrested and taken to the county jail on an open murder charge. However, the prosecutor’s office has temporarily denied charges against her, pending further investigation.
