WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — One of the two brothers who were arrested in Mexico in connection to a 2007 Grand Rapids homicide was in a Wyoming court Thursday.
Eric Santiago was arraigned on an assault with intent to commit murder charge in a separate case connected to the September 2007 drive-by shooting death of Ryan Pollok.
The brothers allegedly got into an altercation in Wyoming earlier on Sept. 30, 2007. Later that night, they mistakenly thought someone from the earlier fight went in to a Grand Rapids home. Santiago and his brother, Juan Enrigues Reyes, shot at the home, killing Pollok.
On Tuesday, Reyes was arraigned in a Grand Rapids court on open murder and assault with intent to commit.
The brothers have been on the run since the shooting and were hiding in Mexico. They were arrested in Guadalajara on Monday, according to the FBI.
