GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say they are investigating the death of a 17-year-old who appears to have first started having trouble breathing on a school bus.
The 17-year-old had just finished classes at the Kent Career Technical Center off the East Beltline, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department, when he began having trouble breathing on a school bus around noon.
Paramedics responded to the tech center, where the bus was still parked when the incident happened. They rushed the teen to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The cause of death is not yet known. An autopsy is planned.
GRPD says it is investigating.
The teen’s name was not released Thursday night, nor did police specify which high school he attended.
