GRPD: Two people shot during robbery

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are looking for two suspects after two people were shot during what appears to have been a random robbery.

The shooting happened around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Coit Avenue NE, near Mathews Court.

The Grand Rapids Police Department says the two victims were approached by robbers who demanded their money and cellphones. After the robbery, one of the robbers shot the victims and then both took off on foot.

The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They are cooperating with the investigation, GRPD says.

A K-9 was brought to the scene to track the suspects, but couldn’t find them.
