SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were assaulted and robbed at their home in Springfield after they opened the door to let their dog out.
The two victims, a 57-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man, told police that four men all wearing hoods and masks rushed into their home in the 100 block of Avenue C as they opened the door to let the family dog out around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday.
All four suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and shotguns. The victims said the suspects demanded money and stole medical marijuana.
The victims suffered minor injuries in the assault.
A K-9 unit was able to locate the area where the suspects appear to have gotten into a vehicle and drove away.
The identities of the suspects are currently unknown. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information to contact deputies at 269.781.0880.
