2 hospitalized after car hits GR building

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized Thursday evening after a car struck a building in Grand Rapids.

It happened on Alpine Avenue NW just south of Crosby Street. A northbound vehicle left the road and crashed into the garage door of a commercial building. It’s not yet known why.

The driver and passenger were removed from the car and taken to a local hospital. The nature and severity of their injuries is not yet known.

Northbound Alpine was closed between Courtney Street and Crosby as crews worked to remove the car from the building, but has since reopened.
