Pedestrian hit by car in GR; critically injured

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a man was critically injured after he was hit by a car in Grand Rapids Thursday morning.

Grand Rapids police told 24 Hour News 8 that Mohemeed Gene Hussin, 29, of Grand Rapids ran out in front of a car and was hit at the intersection of Leonard and Plymouth Avenue NE around 6:30 a.m.

The man remains in the hospital in critical condition as of Monday.

Westbound Leonard Street was shut down at Plymouth while police investigated, but it reopened around 8:30 a.m.
