PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — In somewhat surprising but undoubtedly good news for the West Michigan Whitecaps, it was announced Wednesday that Andrew Graham would return to manage the team for a third season.
The Whitecaps have enjoyed great success under Graham — a former Whitecap himself — going 82-58 in his first season and making the playoffs in both his first and second.
Last season, the Whitecaps struggled in the first half, then added several new players from the draft and went on a great run to become the Midwest League champions. It was the team’s sixth Midwest League Championship and their first since 2007.
Pitching coach Mark Johnson will also return to the Whitecaps in 2016 and Edgar Alfonzo will be the hitting coach.
