MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — The police chief of Muskegon Heights is retiring.

Chief Lynne Gill’s retirement was announced in a press release sent out Wednesday morning.

Gill has been with the Muskegon Heights Police Department for 25 years.

A cake and punch open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 17 at Muskegon Heights City Hall.

It’s unclear who will replace Gill.

Gill’s retirement is among several recent changes in leadership in Muskegon Heights. Voters elected a new mayor in November and 24 Hour News 8 was told the city is currently in negotiations with the man chosen to be their new city manager.
