LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (WOOD) In the season of giving, don’t forget your four-legged friends. The staff and volunteers at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take special care of dogs who are waiting for their forever homes, including Jude. Jude is a one-year-old who has some special needs due to a brain injury. She’s still a good-natured, affectionate dog with a lot of energy.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is a no-kill sanctuary for dogs that come from humane societies or animals shelters. They have more than 100 dogs available for adoption, and Mackenzie’s cares for them as long as it takes to find them forever homes. The staff and volunteers get to know each dog, their personalities, and what they like and dislike, to make sure they’re matched to the right home.
You can also help Mackenzie’s by volunteering or participating in the Chow Hound Donation Drive. It is happening now through December 31 at all West Michigan Chow Hound locations.
If you think your home and family are a great match for June or any of the other dogs at Mackenzie’s, give them a call. They’ll help you plan a time to come and visit dogs and a time to visit you with the dog of your choice at your home to ensure the match is a good fit.
