GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating after a man shot outside a gas station Saturday afternoon.
It happened around 2 p.m. at the Marathon gas station located in the 300 block of Franklin Street SW near US-131.
Police say the 24-year-old victim was shot in the parking lot after getting into an altercation with the suspect inside the gas station. The suspect then fled the scene eastbound on Franklin Street in a white Ford Explorer.
A nurse who was at the scene at the time of shooting offered some aid to the victim, according to police on scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. He is currently in critical but stable condition.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man around 40 to 50 years old with a husky build and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat, blue flannel shirt and jeans.
