Police respond to shooting in Muskegon Heights

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police responded to the scene of a shooting in Muskegon Heights late Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. The Norton Shores Police Department confirmed some of its officers were being called to assist Muskegon Heights police at the scene near the intersection of E. Sherman Boulevard and Hoyt Street.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known, and it’s unclear how many people were hurt or how seriously.
