GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — A teen who stabbed and killed a rival gang member in 2014 is headed to prison.

Victor Donaldson was sentenced on Monday to between 10 and 30 years in prison.

In August, he was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Ja’Paris Rodgers.

Rodgers was stabbed and killed in Holland Township in late July 2014. Police say Rodgers and Donaldson were known to be in separate gangs and had previous problems with each other.

Donaldson was 16 at the time of the murder. He will turn 18 on Dec. 26.
