GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The re-imagined “The Nutcracker” is returning to the stage this holiday season with the Grand Rapids Ballet and some kids who can’t make it out to the performance, got a special treat. A small group of dancers delighted patients at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
The show delighted sold out audiences when it premiered in December 2014. The classic production was transformed as a result of a national collaboration between Grand Rapids native Chris Van Allsburg, one of America’s most innovative picture book creators; Eugene Lee, Tony Award-winning set designer; and Val Caniparoli, distinguished choreographer.
“The Nutcracker” will be at DeVos Performance Hall December 11 through 13 and 18 through 20. For tickets and information on special events, visit grballet.com.
