Local man featured on ‘Shark Tank’ for Christmas tree lights

Brad Boyink presents his GeekMyTree idea on Daybreak. (Dec. 11, 2015)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A West Michigan man will be featured on national television for his Christmas tree decoration idea.

Many people may be familiar with Brad Boyink’s work. He’s the man behind the Christmas light show set to music that ran in the Grand Haven and Spring Lake area for six years.

Boyink wanted to bring the outdoor light show inside to the Christmas tree so he created GeekMyTree.

GeekMyTree features Christmas tree lights that can be programmed for different colors, designs, and patterns from a free mobile app. Boyink said there’s more than 100 different effects.

Boyink will pitch GeekMyTree on “Shark Tank” at 9 p.m. Friday on WOTV 4 Women.

GeekMyTree is for sale at Bronners and at geekmytree.com.
