STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) — Saturday was all about holiday spirit and real-life heroes at one southwest Michigan store.

More than 25 officers and firefighters from local departments helped about a dozen children fulfill their holiday dreams.

It was all part of the Shop with a Hero event.

Emergency responders went with kids in need to Wal-Mart to get their holiday present.

One of the organizers told 24 Hour News 8 it was done with the help of donations, putting smiles on many faces for a special day in the community.
