HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. (WOOD) In West Michigan, when you think of cereal and snack foods, you think of Kellogg’s. But how much do you know about the man who founded the company?

W.K. Kellogg was a businessman who was far ahead of his time. One way to learn more about him is to tour his beautiful summer home on Gull Lake. The W.K. Kellogg Manor House was the summer home of the Kellogg family for 15 years. It’s open to the public for self-guided tours on weekdays and is also available for public and private events. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation deeded the property to Michigan State University in 1952 and it became the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.

There are fun holiday events happening at W.K. Kellogg Manor House. A special Holiday Walk and Market is Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19 from noon to 5 p.m.
