MONROVIA, CA (WOOD/WXXA) – Trader Joe’s has issued a recall nationwide for its Triple Ginger Brew, after receiving reports of unopened bottles bursting.

The Food and Drug Administration said the product itself is safe to consume and poses no health risk.

Trader Joe’s says it has pulled the beverage from its store shelves and destroyed it.

No injuries have been reported.

The voluntary recall involves Triple Ginger Brew sold in 25.4 fluid ounce glass bottles.

Trader Joe’s tells WXXA they will not be carrying the product for the remainder of the season.

The company said it refund customers who already purchased the recalled beverage.
