Authorities: Robbers armed with pipes beat man

BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Ottawa County authorities are investigating after a man said he was beaten and robbed early Saturday.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. in the parking lot of Holland Pallet, located on Henry Court east of 96th Avenue in Blendon Township, north the community of Borculo.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on patrol in the area came upon a man who had been assaulted, sustaining injuries to his face and head.

The man told investigators that two strangers wearing black ski masks and armed with metal pipes attacked him and stole his wallet and money.

The victim, a 62-year-old whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not known Saturday afternoon.
