BCPD: Armed robber gets away with cash

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Battle Creek police are looking for the man who robbed a cellphone store worker at gunpoint Saturday evening.

The robbery happened in the parking lot of the Metro PCS at 805 Capital Avenue NE, north of E. Emmett Street, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

As an employee approached their car after closing the store, they were approached by a man wearing a mask and hood. The robber displayed a silver, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The robber then took off on foot headed west.

A Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called in to track the robber, but didn’t find him.

The worker who was robbed was not hurt.
