Drive tops Energy with some NBA help

Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings plays with the Grand Rapids Drive against the Iowa Energy at the DeltaPlex in Walker. (Dec. 19, 2015)

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Drive had a not-so-secret weapon during Saturday’s game against the Iowa Energy: Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings.

Jennings wasn’t the only NBA star in the starting lineup. Reggie Bullock and Darrun Hilliard, also assigned by the Pistons, joined him on the Drive in front of a sold-out crowd at the DeltaPlex.

Hilliard finished with 23 points and Bullock added a game-high 29, while Jennings recorded a double-double in his first game action since tearing his Achilles in January with 11 points and 12 assists.

The Drive beat the Energy 130-104.
