HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD)— Police are sharing the name of a Holland Township man killed in a rollover crash on Waverly Road.

Edward Sedell-Shaquille Isom died when his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix veered off the road, rolled multiple times and hit a tree, officers said in a Monday news release. The crash happened on New Year’s Day on Waverly Road between 24th and 32nd streets.

Officers said Isom was driving at a high speed before the crash.

The 23-year-old man was thrown from his vehicle and died at the scene, authorities said.

Police were called to the crash just before 8:45 a.m., but they believe the accident actually happened hours before that.

The vehicle came to rest in a grove of pine trees, which made it less visible to passersby, officers said.

The roadway was partially closed to traffic for hours as investigators tried to reconstruct the crash.
