GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) West Michigan is on the forefront of great ideas in healthcare. Sticking with that pioneering spirit, the country’s first year-round recreation center for children with weak immune systems is The Children’s Healing Center.

The Children’s Healing Center is for children with weak immune systems. The center offers a clean, safe place where children ages three through 18 can play, be active, and have fun in a germ-free environment. Members and their families undergo a strict screening process by a medical team before they come in to make sure no one is exposed to colds, infections, or other illnesses that could be harmful to the children. More than 25% of the center’s budget is dedicated to maintaining a super-clean space.
