GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A group of artists, dancers, and film creators are behind a big event at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts.

A Gallery Exhibition of New Works in Screendance runs Friday, January 8 through Sunday, January 17. Screendance is an opportunity to view dance in a new way, off the stage. It presents a story in a way that’s nonverbal. The films are set to a song, but are not music videos.

A member preview of the exhibition takes place on Friday, January 8. It’s open to members at 6 p.m. and to the public at 7 p.m. UICA members are free. Non-members are $5.
