Fans asked to submit food ideas for 5/3 Ballpark

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WOOD) — The West Michigan Whitecaps are once again asking for new concession ideas from the public.

This is the seventh year that food ideas submitted by fans will be voted on, with the winning entry added to the Fifth Third Ballpark menu.

Hot-To-Tot is a buffalo chicken and bleu cheese covered tater tot dish.

Past winners include the Declaration of Indigestion (hot dog covered in a Philly cheese steak), Baco (a taco shell made of bacon), the Auger Dogger (a potato spiraled around a hot dog) and last year’s winner, the Hot-to-Tot (a combination of tater tots, buffalo chicken, hot sauce and bleu cheese).

“This promotion is one of my favorites,” said Katie Johnson Whitecaps Food and Beverage Manager. “We look forward to reading all of the creative ideas. The fans like trying to come up with the next big food item for us.”

The food idea submissions will be taken through Jan. 29 and can be made through the Whitecaps Facebook page, Twitter account (@wmwhitecaps), Instagram account (instagram.com/whitecaps) or via e-mail at playball@whitecapsbaseball.com. All submissions should be accompanied by a complete description and a picture, if possible.

The Whitecaps open the 2016 season on Saturday, April 9 against the South Bend Cubs at 4 p.m.
