MONTCALM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was hurt when a school bus collided with a horse and buggy west of Stanton on Thursday morning, authorities say.
It happened around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Greenville and Dickerson Lake roads in Montcalm Township according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says the eastbound bus from the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District was stopped at the Greenville Road sign, preparing to turn left. A southbound buggy driven by 56-year-old Ade Miller of Lakeview was headed south on Greenville and also stopped briefly at the intersection.
The buggy and the bus pulled in to the intersection at the same time, causing the buggy to hit the bus’s front driver’s side fender.
Both the bus and buggy sustained minor damage.
None of the four students on the bus nor anyone else was hurt. The horse was also not injured.
