“Tonight we weren’t sharp,” Griffins head coach Todd Nelson said. “We had trouble making a five-foot pass, 10-foot pass and the puck was jumping for whatever reason. It was one of those nights, you go through it and try and grind it out. We got a point but, it was a point that I don’t know we deserved.”

The Griffins had won 14 straight games at home before Sunday’s loss.

“I think it’s a little bit disappointing, but we know going into the next game it’s really important to win,” Griffins goalie Jared Coreau said. “When those streaks end, it’s really important to bounce back and show the league that yeah, we might drop one here or there, but we’re going to win the next five or six in a row and redeem ourselves.”

Sunday was the second annual “bring your dog to the game” night at Van Andel Arena.
