MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A Muskegon man who authorities said owned thousands of extremely graphic images and videos of child pornography will likely spend decades in prison.

A federal judge last week sentenced 26-year-old Adam James Fitzpatrick to 20 years in prison for distributing child porn online.

Judge Maloney said it was the worst child pornography case he’s seen, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities said they found thousands of videos and images of abused children, toddlers and infants on a computer taken from his Fitzpatrick’s home in August 2015. Investigators said they also discovered Fitzpatrick tried to convince other adults to abuse their children for him and he attempted to contact children using a web camera.

Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge of distributing child pornography on Sept. 22. Under his sentence, Fitzpatrick will be under supervision for 10 years once he’s released from prison.
