FLINT, Mich. (WOOD) – An organization is stepping up to take care of the plastic water bottles piling up in Flint.
Thousands of plastic water bottles have been handed out to residents in recent weeks after issue of Flint’s lead-tainted water became public.
The Michigan Recycling Coalition told 24 Hour News 8 it’s setting up recycling centers citywide to handle the waste.
Young’s Environmental Cleanup, a private hazardous waste clean-up company, also added a large bin for recyclables at its offices on Flint’s east side.
In addition, city officials are pushing curbside recycling service already available through Republic Services, the city’s contracted waste hauler.
