MSP: Series of thefts at SW Mich. rest stops

COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police are investigating a number of thefts from vending machines at rest stops in Southwest Michigan.

The thefts occurred between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at rest stops on I-94 and I-69, including the Michigan Welcome Center on I-69 in Coldwater, just six miles north of the Michigan-Indiana border.

The suspect or suspects took change from the vending machines after prying them open, a release from MSP said.
