Authorities: One injured in crash involving mail truck

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say one person was injured after a crash involving a mail truck in Ottawa County.

It happened around 11:48 a.m. at the intersection of Cottonwood Drive and Carriage Lane.

Authorities with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department say 54-year-old Rudy Wright, who is from the Kalamazoo area, was unable to change lanes in time to avoid hitting the mail truck. Wright’s car overturned, and he was pinned in for a short period of time.

Wright was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the mail truck, 24-year-old Samantha Susterich of Grandville, was not injured.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, as well as the Georgetown Township Fire Department and Life EMS responded to the crash.
