KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo Public Schools hosted their “Stuff a Bus” water drive on Saturday.
The event collected hundreds of donated cases and jugs of water. The water will be driven to Flint early next week. A local company also donated its truck for the cause.
One Kalamazoo Central High School student says she feels it is important to help out the city of Flint in its time of need.
“They’re also our brothers and sisters, and we shouldn’t leave them out in a time of crisis,” Kiera Parkman, a senior at Kalamazoo Central High School said. “And, for a city to another city, I feel like it’s warming and heartfelt that we’re giving them something that we also have.”
Nearly 1,200 bottles of water were collected at the event.
