GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) It’s time to nominate for the Connecting with Community Awards. It’s easy to nominate people, organizations and businesses partnering together to help our community.

It only takes a few minutes to nominate here and you can honor and recognize the great working being done.

The Connecting with Community Awards is a celebration of community partnerships. We are looking for two or more groups working together to solve needs in the West Michigan area.

In the past, the Connecting with Community Awards have highlighted partnerships like a county government working with an animal shelter.

This station initiative has celebrated collaborations like a church working with local park to supply jobs for the homeless.

Another unique project the Connecting with Community Awards have covered was a free clothing store started by a high school student and embraced by a whole community.

The Connecting with Community Awards deadline is February 25th so nominate today.

In March and April, 24 Hour News 8 will highlight the eight finalists, and on May 13th we will announce the winner.
