Recognize the creative community

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Every year, local filmmakers, producers, actors, and directors get the recognition they deserve at the Eclipse Awards.

The Eclipse Awards are an honor for film, video, and television creators who live and work in West Michigan. There are many different categories, similar to what you would see at a national awards program like the Oscars or Golden Globes.

Nominations are now being accepted online. The fee is $35 for adults and $15 for students. The deadline to enter a nomination is March 11 at 5 p.m. The awards ceremony is at City Flats Ballroom in Grand Rapids on April 28.

The Eclipse Awards are sponsored in part by WKTV, which is the oldest and one of the largest community media centers in the United States. It offers a full facility in the Kentwood/Wyoming area with two studios and full digital cinema program. The facility is free to use as long as participants place the program they create on the community channel. There is a small fee for training.
